Adoption Profile Completed!

Well we finally finished our adoption profile and mailed it to our Social Worker. An adoption profile is basically a four page outline of who we are and what type of life our adopted child may have. Our adoption agency Lutheran Social Service puts it in "the book" and when a Birthmother comes to them and asks to see information about the families that want to adopt they can chose who they want more information about from our profile. We are currently on a waiting list to get into "the book", they only allow 60 families in the book at a time. So once a child is placed with a family, that family is taken out of the book and another one is put in the book. They use the same 60 families in all of their offices.....so it could be awhile before we are even in the book. We want to stay positive and be prepared for a child, but we have no idea the time frame and we are trying not to get our hopes up.

We moved a few mores loads over to my parents house in New Ulm over the weekend. Our house is very empty....we are having mixed emotions about moving. We are excited to start a new venture, but also nervous and sad to be moving out of the first house we owned and worked so hard on. The neighbor lady stopped over yesterday and said she hopes we stay in touch and doesn't want us to move, but understands why we are leaving. She wants us to stop over once we have a child...she is a very sweet elderly lady and the first thing she asked us when we moved in was "do you have any kids.....they make me smile". We have been blessed with wonderful and caring neighbors and hope that we find a new home with a great neighborhood.

I spent a couple hours yesterday with my Mom. They are staying in their motor home on the farm in Le Sueur while Dad is harvesting. We are taking one day at a time with her. She has a very hard time walking and talking. She mumbles and can't say much but we try to understand what she is saying. She knows who we are so thats a blessing, but it is still very hard to see her in this condidtion. Tom and Parker were farming yesterday with my Dad so they stopped over while I was with Mom. She really lit up when Parker (full of energy and Halloween candy!) came in.
